Call of Duty 4 Champions of xLAN 2011, runners up Black Ops
Uprising has finished xLAN 2011 as the national champions for Call of Duty 4 for the third consecutive year. Along with the retention of the champion status, the team also were runners up in the Call of Duty: Black Ops tournament, losing out to Australian based organisation
Parallel Gaming.
The grand final was played on the main stage of the event and was won in just two maps with tight score lines.
Uprising won the first map, their map choice of District after winning the knife round, 13-9. The second map,
Parallel Gaming's pick, couldn't have been any closer - in regulation time - concluding at 13-11 in
Uprising's favour following a risky final round maneuver that went
Uprising's way.
The two tournaments netting the team a massive $4,500 prize pool of Razer products; $3,000 for first place in Call of Duty 4 and $1,500 for runners up in Black Ops.
The two podium finishes at this year's xLAN sees
Uprising with 6 podium placings in just four years, with second place being the lowest placing in any tournament entered by the team.
